To gain clear skin, you need to take take care of your skin. First, you will need to pick a special face-cleanser. Regular soap will not do! Any cleanser that claims to be non-comedogenic (non-irritating) will be good for your skin. Use your cleanser twice a day, in the morning & at night. Be sure that your skin is clean before and after you use any cosmetic products to keep your skin as clear as possible.
Next, you will need a basic moisturizer. Select a moisturizer that is specifically formulated for people with acne. Make sure it is non-comedogenic and right for your specific skin type, as well. Your skin type is going to be either "normal", "oily", "dry", or "combination". It may surprise you, but people with acne can have dry skin! You will need to apply your moisturizer after every time you use your cleanser.
You will also need an acne serum. Your serum will probably contain salicylic acid - a special component that helps treat the bacteria and fungi that can form on skin with acne.

It may surprise you, but if you do not regularly use sunscreen, you may not only be exposing your skin to the kind of damage that causes skin cancer, but also worsening your acne! That's because sun is a leading cause of irritation. Select a sunscreen with an SPF rating appropriate for your skin color (the lighter your skin is, the higher an SPF you will need). Also make sure your sunscreen does not contain irritants or oils.
